The gift of core shamanism is that anyone - even those of us living in big cities - can connect with the spirits. Core shamanism is taught by Michael Harner's Foundation for Shamanic Studies, as well as by Tom Cowan and Sandra Ingerman, among others. Some sources below mention traditional indigenous paths, but these really depend on personal connection. Seek and ye shall find. Political links are provided even though in many cases the spiritual aspects of what's happening to us are not acknowledged. But the root definition of "politics" is interpersonal relations, which includes emotional and psychological elements: neurosis, psychosis, denial of the shadow.
